The Florida Mayhem (1-1) couldn’t break the top half of the 20-team league in the first rankings released after the squad split a pair of matches in Philadelphia this weekend.
But their performance against the Philadelphia Fusion (2-0) and Houston Outlaws (0-2) did push them up two spots from No. 15 to No. 13 in ESPN’s coaches poll this week.
The team’s opening weekend was a mixed bag, as the Mayhem followed up a 3-0 drubbing of the Outlaws by getting swept by the Fusion.
Philadelphia was ranked No. 7 on the list, which polls coaches across the league and was released Tuesday evening.
The Mayhem have the week off before returning to action in Week 4 against No. 2 N.Y. Excelsior and No. 18 London Spitfire in Houston.
