Mega Man music concert takes over The Abbey on Saturday

A concert featuring bands that play music related to the Mega Man video game series will roll into Orlando on Saturday night.

The concert presented by Ongaku Overdrive, which last year hosted a concert with bands playing music from Final Fantasy, will start at 7 p.m. at The Abbey music venue at 100 S. Eola Drive.

The show will feature local rapper EyeQ, Tampa-based DJ RoboRob, hip hop emcee Richie Branson and Danimal Cannon, a video game music composer and chip tune rock artist.

Athens, Ga.,-based Bit Brigade will headline the show.

Tickets are available at the Ongaku Overdrive website.

Mario, Mega Man and Zelda speed-runners coming to Orlando for charity

On your marks, get set, play Super Mario Bros. 3!

For the first time, a speed-run event will come to Orlando in January, with highly skilled players looking to finish games like Mega Man 7, Battle Toads, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and, yes, Super Mario 3 as quickly as they can.

Awesome Games Done Quick is a weeklong video game marathon that raises money for various charities.

Watch: Rapper Mega Ran Performs Final Fantasy VII song ‘Avalanche’ at Ongaku Overdrive

It was a night of celebrating Final Fantasy at The Abbey.

Hundreds of die-hard fans swarmed the venue Saturday to check out live music related to the classic series.

Rapper Mega Ran kicked off his set with one of the signature songs off his “Black Materia” album, “Avalanche.”
